In only six months Mark Johnson launched and sold ZITE for US$ 20 mil.

Technology entrepreneur Mark Johnson from San Francisco has dedicated his career to developing breakthrough products that help to create global technology trends. Mark became an entrepreneurial rockstar in March 2011 when he launched his ZITE product, which was purchased within six months by the CNN media corporation for around US$ 20 million. And only a few weeks ago ZITE was sold by the CNN media giant to Flipboard for US$ 60 million. It was at that point that Mark gave up his position of Director and is currently searching for new ideas.

Are all these millions making you dizzy? Meet Mark, a global entrepreneurial rockstar, geek and visionary, who actively co-creates global technological trends with his sexy products.

Mark will also be available for one-on-one mentorship – more information about this will be available soon.

Mark’s passion is changing technologies into sexy products and this is also the topic of his talk. In the past Mark has used his visionary knowledge to help a large number of teams to achieve success. He was an important member of three successful start-up teams: SideStep (acquired by Kayak in 2007 for US$ 180 million); Kosmix (acquired in April 2011 by Walmart); and Powerset (acquired in July 2008 by Microsoft).

At the PODIM Conference Mark will provide information on

  • How a start-up can participate in creating global technology trends,
  • The new paradigms in searching for new content on the web,
  • Global technology trends you should not overlook,
  • How to develop sexy products that users will adore.
